Although Demian Maia is fighting MMA’s baddest middleweight at “UFC 112: Invincible,” the Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner doesn’t appear too worried about champion Anderson Silva. In fact, Maia believes “The Spider” better keep his limbs to himself if he intends to leave Abu Dhabi with them.
Maia took a unanimous decision over Dan Miller at UFC 109 in February. The Brazilian jiu jitsu wizard owns an impressive 12-1 professional record and has finished in 10 of those W’s, eight by way of submission.
Silva was last seen putting Forrest Griffin to sleep with a barrage of jabs at UFC 101 last August. He’s currently riding an 11-fight win streak, disposing all but one of those foes before the final horn.
Maia is entering the biggest fight of his career a significant 4-to-1 underdog.
