Happy New Year to all! I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents for some tips in getting you or your family and friends started this 2012 year. Enjoy!
Turn “I Should” language into “I WANT” language
Not “I should lose weight because my doctor told me to,” but “I want to lose weight so my pants will fit”.
You have to make the motivation your own. It’s got to really be from you, in order to stick.
Break your goals into pieces
A huge task can seem overwhelming. S.M.A.R.T. goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-Bound).
Specific – Know exactly what you need to do.
Measurable – Figure out how much time you have to do it and how far it is from getting completed.
Achievable – Instead of doing an entire chapter of work, target maybe 2 pages.
Realistic – How much money can be made in given time and resources?
Time Bound – Schedule your task and create a deadline.
Do the hardest thing first.
Get rid of all your stalling tactics. People tend to avoid doing the :”scary” things by doing unnecessary prerequisites. “I can’t work on my computer until I straighten out the desk first.”
Have someone to report to
“Accountability is why we hire trainers and coaches”.
Reward Yourself
Tell Yourself after you have completes the day’s goal you will _____
Implement
Just Do it! You can’t finish it if you don’t start it.
