“Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, & anyone going faster than you is a maniac?”George Carlin
I like this line. It tells me that we are the center of the universe since everything we do is the reference of how things should be done. We, of course, are not the center of the universe. I am amazed at how we believe so many people “do things wrong” but we do not choose to constructively correct them. We are content to “talk behind their back” to others. It also depends on our mood. Someone could be in a happy mood but if we are having a bad day, they may be a bit too chipper for our taste, otherwise that same person could be just what the doctor ordered.
People say I am very passive when it comes to things that would normally anger them..We have to remember other people points of views. Someone who appears rude may just be in a hurry. Now they should still be polite, but how many times in our lives do we control ourselves perfectly 24 hours a day?
I think if we simply put ourselves in other people’s shoes and take away our personal mood at the moment, we will find that there are alot less “idiots” and “maniacs” out there.
